Wetheral couple ready for a cosy winter after major home refurbishment through government ECO scheme
0800 Repair, part of Pacifica Group, has undertaken a major refurbishment project on a home in Wetheral, Cumbria, to ensure a couple recovering from the coronavirus can enjoy a warm winter.
Mr and Mrs Buckley have lived in their home for 44 years and have used the government’s Energy Company Obligation Scheme (ECO) to improve their home and make it more energy efficient.
Under ECO, medium and larger energy suppliers fund the installation of energy efficiency measures in British households to help tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions.
The obligated energy suppliers work with installers, such as North East-based 0800 Repair, which undertook the works on the couple’s home.
The works included a new energy efficient heating system to lower the amount of carbon dioxide produced by the house.
Internal wall and roof insulation to reduce energy consumption, removal and refitting of the existing kitchen, and upgrading the bathroom by replacing the bath with a new shower unit.
The extensive project in Wetheral, which is fully funded by the scheme, means that Mr and Mrs Buckley can now look forward to a warmer home this winter, which is particularly welcome news in their recovery from COVID-19.
