Whirlpool unveils new washing machine technology

The Indian division of appliance manufacturer Whirlpool has unveiled its latest product range – a washing machine capable of moving clothes using 11 different motions.

The release of the 360 Bloom Wash appliance has been timed to coincide with Whirlpool Corporation's centenary celebrations.

According to a report by Indian news agency Afaqs, the appliance uses 70 per cent less water during the soaking stage compared to some other appliances on the market. Its unique cleaning action turns clothes inside out, generating a more thorough clean.

Shantanu Dasgupta, vice-president, corporate affairs and strategy, said: "Whirlpool, inventors of washing machines, has always strived for innovations which emanate from a deep consumer understanding.

"As part of our global centenary celebrations, we are proud to introduce the revolutionary 360° bloom wash in India. We strongly believe that this new launch will be one of the key drivers in reinforcing Whirlpool brand’s leadership in innovation and positioning as a home appliances specialist."
