Husky freezer deal sealed

Fridge and freezer specialist Husky has announced that it has signed a global distribution deal with Austrian freezer manufacturer AHT.

According to a report by Insider, the deal will see the Leicestershire-based company's freezers distributed by AHT outlets across the world. Husky manufactures a wide range of commercial refrigeration products from glass door coolers and ice cream display units to back bar bottle coolers and multi-deck display coolers.

The firm's chillers and fridges will now be marketed under the name AHT Husky, although freezers will retain the AHT brand, Insider reported.

Geoff Thomasson, Husky's chief executive, was keen to stress that the agreement does not represent a merger of the two companies.

He said: "The opportunity of a partnership with AHT is perfect for Husky, although we both want to stress that this is merely a strategic trading agreement, not a merger.

"We are a lean operation with lots of ideas and enthusiasm as well as taking great pride in what we do."
