Electrolux eyes strong growth
Appliance manufacturer Electrolux has indicated that it expects to see strong growth in key markets this year.
According to Reuters, Electrolux estimates that in 2016, home appliances market growth will register three to four per cent in North America and two to three per cent in western Europe. The Swedish firm also said it anticipated a boost from falling raw materials costs.
"The core strategy of Electrolux remains unchanged," Electrolux said in a statement. "Electrolux continues to step up investments in innovation, product development, design and marketing to support future product launches."
Electrolux was last year forced to abandon its planned buyout of General Electric (GE) Appliances. The US Department of Justice had sought to block the GE Appliances buyout, citing fears over the impact on competition and consumer welfare.
GE Appliances was subsequently sold to Chinese group Haier.
