Energy market 'too complex'
Consumer campaigning group Which? has called for the restructuring of Britain's energy market to ensure a fairer deal for consumers.
With the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) soon expected to reveal the provisional findings of its ongoing inquiry into the UK energy market, Which? has warned that only radical action would be sufficient to cut customers' bills.
"The CMA investigation is a golden opportunity to ensure the energy market is performing competitively, efficiently and in the interests of all consumers," said Which? executive director Richard Lloyd.
He added: "The CMA must announce remedies which will tackle the fundamental failings of this broken market once and for all."
Among the measures proposed by Which? is the simplification of tariffs and more meaningful engagement from energy firms with consumers.
