Netflix button set to feature on smart TV remotes
If you've got a smart TV, then it's about to become even easier to flick over to your Netflix films - because a dedicated Netflix button is set to appear on UK smart TV remotes.
The buttons are already a common feature on smart TV remote controls in the US, and from later this year will also be included on some new European remotes. A number of smart TV manufacturers are understood to have signed up to the scheme.
Among those confirmed to be on board are Philips, Sony, Vestel, Toshiba and Panasonic.
Netflix head of product development Bill Holmes said: "The new Netflix button on remotes in Europe makes watching Netflix as easy as changing the channel on traditional TV, allowing viewers to enjoy our great programming much quicker."
The dedicated Netflix buttons will also be included on remote controls for internet-connected Blu-Ray players, although the exact devices which will include them have not yet been revealed.
