Family left without boiler for six weeks
A family from Nottinghamshire have been left without a working boiler for weeks on end, forcing them to make lengthy trips just to have access to hot water.

According to the Nottingham Post, Richard Gilbert and his family have been without hot water or heating for six weeks at their home in Edwalton. Mr Gilbert hit out at his housing association, Metropolitan, for failing to resolve the problem in a timely manner.

"Metropolitan has put me and my family through hell," he said. "They still want their rent but they expect us to live without hot water or heating – I just don’t think that’s fair."

The boiler was switched off by Metropolitan contractors on January 15, having been declared a safety risk. Mr Gilbert says he was then told the repair would be carried out on February 23, before then being informed that the missing part would be delivered in a fortnight.

Metropolitan apologised for the delay and said it was looking into why it had taken so long for the matter to be resolved.
