Samsung has accused electronics rival LG of vandalising its washing machines.
The South Korean manufacturing giants have entered a row after Samsung said that LG employees were seen purposely destroying Samsung washing machines in stores in Germany. The feud happened in light of the IFA event in Berlin.
LG said that two machines were broken and were caused accidently as the hinges on the model were weak.
Jo Seong-jin, head of LG was one of the people named in the investigation request and others involved have been questioned by the German police.
In a statement LG said: “If our company had any intention to destroy products of a certain company to tarnish the image of the product, it would be common sense to not have our executives directly carry out such acts.”
The company added: “We hope that this is not an attempt to damage our reputation.”
