Winner of ‘Best Online Marketing Campaign’

0800 REPAIR, based in Chester-le-Street, won acclaim in the Franchise Marketing Awards 2011, which recognise the industry’s most innovative and effective marketing campaigns.The awards are judged by an independent panel of experts, and 0800 REPAIR won the Best Online Marketing Campaign title against stiff competition from other shortlisted entrants including Apollo Blinds and McDonald’s.

Business entrepreneur, Scott Pallister, 30 from Chester le St, set up 0800 REPAIR in 2009, and since then his engineers have been making a splash across the country in their yellow and black branded vans complete with seven-foot screwdrivers on the top.

The company, which is headquartered in Chester le St, fixes domestic appliances, is built on the concept of having employees, franchisees and approved sub-contractors. 0800 REPAIR hopes to develop a further 150 franchises over the next three years.

0800 REPAIR’s campaign used social media sites such as Facebook – with prize draws to boost the number of followers - and Twitter to raise awareness of the company and its repair services.Prizes were presented to the winners at The British & International Franchise Exhibition on 18 March at London’s Olympia.

Adrian Goodsell, Franchise Sales Manager for Venture Marketing Group, organisers of the awards, said: “The Franchise Marketing Awards are well established as a premier accolade in the franchise industry, recognising franchise companies for achieving excellence in their marketing activities.”

Scott said 0800 REPAIR was delighted to win such prestigious recognition.

“We work hard to get the message across to customers about how useful our services are, and our online marketing campaign is an important part of that,” he said.
